Installing, Updating, or Reinstalling eRemote Software

 

To install, update, or reinstall our eRemote software, follow these steps:

 

1. Open a Web Browser

 

Launch a web browser, such as Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, and go to eremote.us. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome. If you encounter any issues while accessing the website in another browser, try opening it in Google Chrome instead.

 

2. Access the Installer

 

Click the icon located in the top-right corner of the webpage, as shown in the screenshot below.

3. Build the Installer

 

After clicking the icon, select “Build Installer.” A new window will appear.

 

4. Configure Installer Settings

 

In the “Build Installer” window:

• The Name field can remain as the default option, “Use Machine Name.”

• In the Type field, select the correct file format based on your operating system:

Windows users: Choose the .exe file type (default option).

Mac users: Choose the .pkg file type.

• Click Download to begin downloading the installer.

5. Install the Software

 

After the file has finished downloading, open it and run the program. If any security or confirmation warnings appear, click Accept or Continue to proceed with the installation.

 


Mac Users: Handling Unidentified Developer Warning


If you see the message “eRemote.ClientSetup cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer,” follow these steps to proceed:

1. Open System Settings (previously System Preferences).

2. Navigate to the Privacy & Security tab.

3. Scroll down to find a message about the eRemote client and click Open Anyway.

6. Complete the Installation

 

Follow any additional prompts that appear on your screen to finalize the installation.
